Rosetta Stone Kids Reading Program

Read Time:2 Minute, 43 Second

Rosetta Stone has released a new learn to read, interactive program for children learning to read.  This program uses technology as a tool for reading development, providing intimate feedback to the children and easy to read reports to parents.

I am a Rosetta Stone Kids Reading Influencer and received compensation and a trial subscription for my honest review and feedback. My options are 100% my own.

Rosetta Stone Kids Reading Program

Here at the Educators’ Spin On It, we are often asked questions about teaching children to read.

  • How do I teach my child to read?
  • What do I do if my child is struggling to learn to read?
  • Are there any programs that you recommend for teaching children to read?

As an experienced master teacher and a parent of a reluctant reader, I was extremely excited to review this new program. I’m also a huge fan of the Rosetta Stone language program for adults, which helped me to learn basic Russian so that I could not only communicate with my in-laws but teach my children to speak Russian as well. I am looking for a reading program that is:

  • Easy for me (and my child) to use.
  • A combination of phonics and whole language.
  • Academic content and vocabulary are integrated into each lesson.
  • Engaging and fun for my child. Get and keep my son excited about reading, and
  • Allows him to work independently.

The Rosetta Stone® Kids Reading Program is “a research-proven, technology-based approach that helps home school students in grades pre-K to 5 build foundation reading skills.”

How Rosetta Stone Reading Program Worked for Us

My son is a reluctant learner when it comes to reading. He was however extremely motivated by this program. We limit technology usage in our house and save screen time for educational learning times, so this program fit in well with our family technology policy.

We have used it now for three weeks and he is excited to complete the tasks to uncover the turtle eggs. I look forward to watching him grow and learn with the program this year.

As a parent, I like how the program provides opportunities for repeated practice in a fun and engaging mannor. We started at the very beginning level and I appreciated how the program includes print awareness activities from the very beginning.
