Afterschool Express: Top Summer Reading & Writing Resources

Read Time:4 Minute, 48 Second

Have you ever wished you could bring home a teacher for the summer so your child didn’t lose anything they learned during the school year?  Here’s your chance!

Do you follow us on Pinterest?  Start now!

I’ve spent many hours searching the internet, collecting ideas and activities for reading and writing.  As I’m reading, evaluating and pinning things I’m thinking of YOU and YOUR CHILD and what your child would need for SUPPORT and what they might need to CHALLENGE them through the year, including during the Summer Break.  As I’m searching, I’m seeing the websites as a Mom and also as a Early Childhood Teacher.  Amanda views them as a Mom, Elementary Teacher and also as a Reading Specialists.  So you get the best of both worlds…Teachers and Moms!

We know that each summer our children can have Summer Learning Loss.  Our hope is that you will use these resources to create activities with your child to prevent this.  We recommend checking these resources out if you’re Preparing your child for Kindergarten & Preschool too! Make sure to create a Reading Environment in your home this summer. Plus you can keep this List handy for during the school year too, for additional support for your child in reading and writing.  It’s like having a tutor in your bag of resources as a parents!
