Surprise your kids on March 17th with a table-full of activities to do (along with fun items like green pencils/crayons or a rainbow fruit plate for breakfast). I also love to pull out a handful of our favorite St. Patrick’s Day books for the day or even a favorite movie! Here’s a list along with affiliate links of a few that we really enjoy:
Finoa’s Luck – an adorable story about a girl who outwits the Leprechaun King in order to bring all the luck back to Ireland. The illustrations in this book are wonderful!
Tim O’Toole and the Wee Folk – tells of the good and bad luck of Tim and his family. A classic story for St. Patricks’ Day!
How to Catch a Leprechaun — we love the illustrations in this story! If your kids want to build a leprechaun trap or see one, this is the book to read.
And if your kids enjoy non-fiction, try the Magic Tree House Fact Tracker #21: Leprechauns and Irish Folklore to explore even more about the Irish culture and traditions!
A few of our family-favorite movies include Disney’s The Gnome-Mobile and Darby O’Gill and the Little People. And if you love silly word games like we do, be sure to check out The Luck of the Mad Libs word games for lots of laughs!
Don’t think that we’ve saved all the fun for the kids either — you’ll find great family games like BINGO, scavenger hunts, word puzzles and more!
